I am responsible for coordinating support services for students with disabilities - ADHD, specific learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. I review academic records and interview incoming students and their parents. I develop annual goals and objectives for students\' IEPs and Services Plans and conduct multi-factored evaluations for identified students. I assist students learn to appreciate both their strengths and their weaknesses and to explore career interests. I collaborate with teachers in an effort to provide differentiated instruction.I plan and direct Freshman Orientation and the Junior Leadership Program, assist with annual retreats, coordinate student activities, and collaborate with House Deans, pastoral ministry staff, guidance counselors, and administration to provide behavorial, academic, social, and spiritual support for all students.

ABOUT KAREN MATUSZEK
For my entire teaching career, I have been a champion of inclusive catholic education. Both at Purcell Marian High School and at Archbishop Moeller High School, I have designed and developed programs to serve students with disabilities in a college preparatory environment. I am responsible for working with students from diverse educational, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. I monitor student progress, offer strategies to improve their study skills, collaborate with parents, teachers, and guidance counselors, direct career exploration, and complete transition planning.I also assist in the academic, social, and behavioral development of students through the House System, a unique system of student governance.
