About Karen Matso

Karen\'s expertise in team facilitation and strategic planning, educational data use, K-12 literacy, Response to Intervention, and backward design of curriculum and instruction makes her a unique asset to any educational team. She has experience in both regular education and special education settings, and at the school and district leadership levels. As a social worker trained in a systems approach, she is able to assess organizational dynamics, and assist schools in developing effective collaborative culture and shared goals. Karen is passionate about helping teachers feel successful and energized in their work because she believes that the positive interactions between teachers and students are the key to student success and students\' love of learning. Karen is committed to supporting teachers in implementing Common Core aligned, student centered instruction and assessment, with an emphasis on 21st Century skills such as collaboration, communication, problem solving, and a growth mindset.
