My current role is managing the daily operations of the global Treasury operations (excludes core Avnet US, Canada and Mexico) which includes approx. 12 pooling structure over 3 continents and a total of approx 750 bank accounts with 64 banks, in 48 countries, in 37 currencies for approx 195 business units, both within and outside these pooling structures. This encompasses managing a team that is responsible for: • FX management – a number of different hedging policies • Cash Management - pooling structures, stand-alone accounts and trapped cash • The management and control of all electronic banking platforms, including the services and testing of new services • Negotiating and management of working capital facilities for local funding in Asia and EMEA. • Control and management of bank guarantees • The management of all banking signatories and PoAs • The management of all banking services on bank accounts • The posting of correct journals to SAP for all Treasury transactions • Working with tax on group restructurings • SOX and audit liaison for whole Group on all matters relating to Treasury and banking controls (managed by Treasury on behalf of the finance teams) Continuous improvement of operations including rationalising, consolidation and improvement of processes and structures, plus cost control (including a 10% reduction in transactional banking costs), as part of the ongoing implementation of the new Treasury structure. In addition to the general daily operations we have recently introduced the monitoring of working capital forecasting, using the cash forecasting process and developed a suite of reporting. This has driven a more cash focussed business and we are seeking to further tighten on usage of cash by way of limits and reporting within the Treasury systems.
