I joined Northern Case Management in January 2010 and have continued to develop my knowledge and skills working with clients who have an acquired brain injury, their families and carers. I undertake comprehensive assessments of needs and formulate case management plans to assist in both the rehabilitation and litigation processes. I recruit, manage and supervise carers, support workers and rehabilitation assistants. I have co-ordinated and chaired multi professional meetings, networked a range of therapists for clients and worked closely with them, to enable clients to reach their full potential. I am able to assess needs while taking into account socio-economic circumstances alongside mental, emotional health and cultural needs. I am able to assess care needs and liaise with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that all identified needs are met in a timely manner. I have much experience in developing and maintaining theraputic working relationships with families and can support and guide them in times of crisis. I am able to assist clients, family members and carers in gaining an understanding and acceptance of changes in physical, mental health, social needs and in the loss of independance, consequent of an acquired disability. I have worked closely with solicitors, finance deputies and case managers and have compiled case management plans with costs for use in the litigation process.
