ABOUT KAREN LEES BERG
I discovered my love for travel and hospitality in 1976 when I, and six family members piled into my Grandfather’s Buick and drove from Philadelphia to Orlando to celebrate our country’s Bicentennial. That trip opened a book of curiosity that cannot be closed.With a BS in Hotel & Restaurant Management in hand, I began my career at a four-star/diamond hotel, moved into the Corporate function and served in many different positions including Operations, Learning & Development, Franchise Relations and Strategy. Having been at the forefront of Revenue Management for hotels, this strategic discipline became a passion. While seeing Revenue Management come to life in the travel industry, it is now more exciting than ever to witness its practice in other industries. Having worked at Delta Air Lines as Director of Revenue Optimization allowed for a deep dive into the vacation packaging and leisure demand, something relevant in the post-pandemic demand environment. Formerly, I served as Vice President of Global Pricing Strategy at IHG for over 5500 hotels in 100 countries. Seeing a proven hypothesis through research and testing come to life through implementation and leadership fuels my drive. I am an evangelist for Revenue Management and harness this passion to teach and guide others on the discipline. I am a very energetic public speaker with a large network, so my impact is wide. I have a passion for talent development and the imperative need for creating and launching robust people-development initiatives to ensure they continue to remain the most important catalysts of innovation and performance, creating and living an exceptional company culture. I am a very strong leader working hard to achieve and maintain above-average Employee Engagement scores, high-performing teams and career succession among my employees.
