ABOUT KAREN AWURA-ADJOA RONKE COKER

I am currently a Fulbright Hays DDRA Fellow via the U.S. Department of Education. I am spending the next 12 months working on my Dissertation Research in Kaffrine, Senegal, engaging with the community on the topic of Climate Change, Mental Health, and Well-being. As a TL1- NIH/NCATS Pre-Doctoral Fellow via the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Florida. I worked on Black Women\'s Conceptualization of Trust, Mental Health, and Well-being with and in their Reproductive Care provider setting in Alachua County, Florida. I am a 4th year PhD Candidate in One Health at the University of Florida within the College of Public Health and Health Professions in the Department of Environmental and Global Health. As a graduate with a Master\'s in International Affairs from The Pennsylvania State University School of International Affairs, I look forward to my continued work regarding the intersection between Environment, Health and Development on the African continent. As a graduate of The University of Michigan, I pursued my Bachelor\'s degree in International Studies, focusing on Global Health and Environment with a geographic and language emphasis on Africa and French Language. I aspire to create, learn and be the condition of change in the spaces I pursue. I aspire to work closely with communities and people in Africa. I continue to pursue opportunities that challenge as well as build my knowledge.
