About Karell T. McDaniel
Karell T. McDaniel, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marine Corps with thirteen years of continuous service. He is a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC-CS), and Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor with over 30 years of experience in the field of Chemical Dependency counseling. He is the founder and Executive Director of Life Recovery Ministries, a faith-based organization providing mental health and substance use training for professionals and the community. He also provides weekly spiritual recovery support groups. He is also the lead Instructor of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings to the faith community. He is also the lead instructor for Life Recovery Development Institute, training students to become CDCA’s since 2011. Many of whom, have gone on to make a significant difference in the chemical dependency field and in their communities. Karell is passionate about recovery, spiritual growth and faith-based counseling. His expertise in chemical dependency has made him a pioneer in developing faith-based services for people living with mental health and substance use disorders. He is the author of several books designed to support faith-based recovery such as Arise, Down Another Path, and Transforming Vampires. Rev. Karell T. McDaniel, LICDC served as the Chairman of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board, Faith-based sub-committee from 20••••15. He is the 2013 Recipient—ADAMHS board Faith Based Involvement Award. Reverend McDaniel is Associate Minister of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church since January 2017, and Worship Minister of Recovery Church, an outreach ministry of OIBC for those in recovery and overcoming hurts, hang-ups and habits since 2019.
