WORK HISTORY
Industrial Engineer @IET, Inc. (Industrial Engineering & Consulting)
Toledo, OH, US
Conducted in-depth material flow analysis and evaluated automation solutions to optimize material handling processes at a battery manufacturing facility for a major automotive manufacturer based out of Detroit, MI, enhancing operational efficiency. Led supplier selection and requirements definition processes for the automated material handling of battery components, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery objectives for a new product launch. Design, development, and deployment of automated robotic systems (AGVs, AMRs, AS/RS, and conveyance systems) to optimize material movement within manufacturing sites for the General Motors Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) platform as part of the Lean Material Strategies team- Applied lean process improvement tools and SMED techniques to streamline changeover procedures for a healthcare products manufacturer based out of Bowling Green, OH, proposing a 56% reduction in downtime and significantly enhancing workflow efficiency. Conducted a comprehensive continuous time study for a production changeover, identifying inefficiencies that led to delays and productivity losses. Analyzed the collected data to quantify manpower utilization and recommended alternative changeover schedules, resulting in a more efficient usage of resources- Conducted storage analysis to optimize warehouse and production floor space utilization for an outdoor power equipment manufacturer based out of Wauwatosa, WI, by evaluating existing layout drawings and identifying optimization opportunities. Developed an Excel-based model to validate a 38% reduction in space requirements, improving space efficiency and storage allocation. Developed alternative facility layouts on AutoCAD based on storage analysis and operational requirements, enhancing space allocation and material flow efficiency while collaborating with client stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational needs.

ABOUT KARANVEER CHAWLA
I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University, where I pursued M.S. in Industrial Engineering. Before pursuing my Master\'s degree, I graduated with a B.Tech in Industrial and Production Engineering with a minor in Business Management from Manipal Institute of Technology, India. Additionally, I am a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a Certified Scrum Product Owner®.Post completing my undergraduate degree, I was associated with the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) division at KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP (KPMG India) for a period of 2.5 years. I had the opportunity to conduct multiple third-party risk assessments for clients in the technology, financial services, and consumer markets sectors. My work enabled me to create value for client/supplier stakeholders across the United States, Europe, and Australia. I also had the opportunity to build supplier risk management frameworks (including defining procedures for onboarding, conducting due diligence, creating risk profiles, performing continuous monitoring, etc.) from the ground up for several clients. In 2024, I got the opportunity to pursue an internship at Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) at their Shippensburg, PA manufacturing facility. As part of this experience, I worked in the capacity of a Logistics Analyst Intern within the Logistics and Uptime Solutions team. The time I spent within the organization, enabled me to better understand the industry-level functioning and application of supply chain and logistics within a global conglomerate and the construction equipment manufacturing industry in general.Currently, I am am Industrial Engineer at IET, Inc. helping clients optimize process flows and drive efficiency improvements in manufacturing and logistics environments. My work focuses on designing and deploying automated systems (AGVs, AMRs, AS/RS, conveyors) to optimize material flow—most recently supporting General Motors\' RESS platform.I consider myself to be calm, driven, and enthusiastic and look to gain further knowledge and do meaningful work in the domains of supply chain engineering, data analytics, logistics management, and process improvement. I look forward to connecting with you here on LinkedIn, or you can email me at k••••••••@gmail.com.
