ABOUT KARAN AGARWAL

Hi, I’m Karan Agarwal, a Toronto-based business analyst and aspiring actuary with a background in statistics and economics from the University of Toronto. I’m passionate about using data and analytical thinking to model risk, forecast outcomes, and guide smarter financial decisions.At Crew Chief Fuels, I build and test forecasting and credit-risk models. My work focuses on finding patterns in data to strengthen financial performance and operational efficiency using tools such as SQL, Python, RStudio, Tableau, and Power BI.Previously at Hyundai Capital Canada, I led the digital transformation of the Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis customer portals for more than users, improving user efficiency and automating chatbot workflows that saved mulitple staff hours each month.Before entering the corporate world, I served as Head Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto, where I taught and mentored over students in statistics and mathematics and helped improve exam performance across multiple courses.I’m currently pursuing the actuarial path through the Society of Actuaries, preparing for Exam P and FM. My goal is to apply my quantitative background to areas like insurance & risk modelling wherein data can shape smarter, fairer, and more predictive systems.I’m always open to connecting with professionals and mentors in actuarial science, analytics, and finance who share the same curiosity for turning numbers into meaningful insights.
