ABOUT KARAN MADAN
Dr Karan Madan is a Professor at the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at AIIMS, New Delhi, India.Dr Madan\'s primary area of clinical and research interest is Interventional Pulmonology, focus areas include Rigid bronchoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS). Other interests include Medical thoracoscopy, Sarcoidosis, and Post TB chronic respiratory diseases. He has published over 400 research publications in various peer-reviewed medical journals. He is also engaged with the World Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP) as a section chair of Endoscopic ultrasound section and a member of the education committee. He has also been serving as Assistant Editor of the Lung India journal. Dr Madan was awarded the Sitaram Jaipuria Foundation Award 2023 for the emerging young leader in healthcare in India, for his work on interventional bronchoscopy and EBUS. He has also been the recipient of the AIIMS Research Excellence Award 2019 for his research on the use of cricothyroid lignocaine injection for diagnostic bronchoscopy.
