ABOUT KARAM MIKHAIL

I am BSc Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Energy Management (GPA 3.95), P.Eng, NACE Chemical Treatment specialist, NACE Corrosion Technologist,API 510, API 570, API 571 Corrosion and Material, more than 20 years’ experience in oil and gas sector. I began my career in Mega projects construction and has continued in third party inspection bodies and owner company. I have certificates in Corrosion and Material, Coating and Insulation inspection (BGAS TWI). I worked with several oil and gas companies from construction side (Petrojet, Technip Italy, SASOL, SABIC, McDermott, Hempel paints, Oman Future Pipes) and inspection bodies (DNV-GL), and owner companies (Qatar Petroleum). I held multiple positions: Coating engineer, Coating and insulation inspector, coating technical advisor, senior coating engineer, corrosion engineer, and have joined multiple tasks committee’s like: integrity operating window (IOW), corrosion Control Documents (CCD), Failure investigations and analysis, Management of changes strategy (MOC). A hazard and operability study (HAZOP), I helped corrosion team to establish corrosion mitigation procedures and support oil refinery operation and process group to achieve a uniform operation with monitoring critical operating parameters. Key person in Naphtha hydrotreating, condensate, sulfur recovery, Amine treating, cooling water and crude distillation units. Recent main achievement, I established with inspection engineers, risk-based engineer and process engineer “Integrity Operating Window” for crude distillation unit for oil and gas refinery, draft document for corrosion control document (CCD) for Hydrotreating unit, Failure analysis report for external heater casing corrosion for extruded nozzles, sharing in material selection and upgrading for Amine treating unit. I am passionate about reading and gaining knowledge more and more, willing to learn a new skill, well dedicated to work, genuine, with dignified sense of humor, excellent interpersonal skills and well work organization, willing to build bridges of trust with all work colleagues.
