Ergometrics and Applied Personnel Research, Inc. is the nation’s leader in entry-level and promotional public safety simulation test development, and produces the most advanced, award winning, job-related tests in the public safety industry. Since 1981, Ergometrics’ highly validated and realistic video-simulation tests have proven to reduce adverse impact, while at the same time identify the best suited candidates within an applicant pool. Through the use of dimensional score reports, Ergometrics’ tests can help predict candidate job performance. As a result, hiring officers possess a snap shot of how a candidate will perform in critical-to-success job-related situations, ultimately reducing turnover. In 2006, Ergometrics formed National Testing Network (NTN), the test administration arm of the company. NTN provides continuous recruitment and testing services for public safety departments and professional licensing programs at test site locations across the United States. Through a continuous testing model, NTN significantly increases diversity in the candidate pool, while at the same time, reduces testing costs for both departments and candidates. In 2008, Ergometrics began developing licensing examinations for state monitored professional licensing programs, such as: cosmetology professions, land surveyors, auctioneers, mental health technicians and waterworks professions.
