Support and coordinate breastfeeding/chestfeeding initiatives throughout the state of Maine that are in alignment with the MSBC Strategic Plan. Provide overall direction and policy strategy for the MSBC, working closely with the Board of Directors and volunteers. Manage day-to-day operations building the MSBC\'s position as a leader in the lactation and new parenting field in Maine.The MSBC’s Mission is to enhance the culture of breastfeeding around the state through education, advocacy, and connection. Check out our website to learn more: To meet our mission the MSBC builds connection and awareness through bi-monthly meetings, our newsletters, and a strong social media presence, and events like The Patchwork of Parenthood. We offer education through bimonthly educational webinars, sharing educational opportunities and a comprehensive list of resources on our website, and through the creation of a Lactation Education Access Fund to fund training opportunities for folks in marginalized communities. We advocate for families through legislative initiatives like Paid Family & Medical Leave, donor milk and breast pump accessibility and reimbursement, and support for doulas and midwifery care.
