ABOUT KARA CONNON

Kara’s background is in sustainability, renewable energy and environmental management and through a 17-year agile career, Kara has worked as an Associate Director of Social Value, specialising in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, educational enrichment and in creating education and industry partnerships.Kara held a dual role, working across both the corporate side of the business and client project relations. Kara was the Global STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) Lead, leading the development and delivery of the global STEAM strategy, setting goals to include supporting our clients achieve their social value commitments, improve our links with universities and colleges to diversify our future talent pool and maximising the impact of social value programmes.Kara has extensive experience in building and maintaining close relationships with a variety of clients and contractors, as well as their supply chains to ensure the inclusion of social value commitments are set at the outset of a project, to ensure they are fundamental to the delivery of exceptional projects. Kara has helped deliver programmes that contribute significant social and economic benefits to the communities and stakeholders of key infrastructure projects, creating impact in skills development, engagement with local stakeholders, strengthening supply chain understanding of social value to maximise measurable impact.Kara has successfully engaged with Boards of Directors and Executive Leadership teams to gain their confidence in the development of strategies to support achieving incredibly ambitious KPIs on Global STEAM engagement.Kara now also sits on the Non Executive Board for Equate Scotland, who support adult females back into STEM workforces.
