I had relocated to India from Copenhagen when I planned to join Maersk GSC @ Pune and had built and led the Tax-GIC team. Key deliverables were- set up robust processes around implementation of new tax reforms and legislation changes globally for Maersk, covering around 160+ countries. India GST was one of the many greenfield implementations which I solutioned- As a lead, my work entails understanding business requirements and converting them technically to IT and aligning on the best possible solution (in SAP), getting the same developed, tested and deployed in production environment, and setting up processes across key impacted modules / streams – like ATR, OTC and PTP- Commanding strong technical and functional skillset on tax derivation and proposing out of the box solutioning, with key focus on standardisation, minimum customisation and within cost and time constraints. Apart from this, driving key strategic projects like e-invoicing (Turkey, Costa Rica, Columbia, Mexico electronic accounting, Portugal SAFT, Angola New VAT regime, GCC UAE, SAFT (Norway, Angola, Lithuania)- Driving the tax transformation project for setting up and streamlining key tax processes – for both Direct Tax (Corporate, Withholding and Freight Taxes) and Indirect Tax (VAT, GST), setting and aligning on key controls for legislation changes (Build and Run), streamlining processes and migration of work to the newly set up Tax Operation Centre.
