I am Kapil Dev, a Humanitarian Photographer who captures light and shadow with the intent of stirring emotions in the viewers of my work. MY JOURNEY I was born and brought up in a small town nestled amidst the majestic Aravali Hills of Rajasthan. From an early age, I found myself captivated by the world of analogue cameras. This fascination with photography never wavered and remained a constant thread in my life, even as I pursued other paths in college that didn\'t truly align with my heart\'s desires. It was during this pivotal period in my life that I rediscovered my camera, and it bestowed upon me a profound sense of calmness and purpose. Initially, I began capturing anything and everything that caught my eye – from the intricate beauty of insects and the graceful flight of birds to the innocent charm of little pups and the captivating essence of humanity itself. As my passion for photography blossomed, I ventured into various realms, including engaging in research work, a facet of my life that still holds a special place in my heart. I also embarked on a journey as a freelance photographer, collaborating with different companies and individuals, honing my craft and expanding my creative horizons. FOCUS ON NOBLE CAUSES Presently, I have the privilege of serving as the Chief Photographer for Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi ji. In this role, I am entrusted with the profound responsibility of documenting his life, his unwavering struggles, and the stark realities he confronts. Through the lens of my camera, I have delved deep into the shadows of the underbelly of society, capturing the heart-wrenching chaos of innocent children being trafficked from their homes to endure a life of forced labor, their precious childhoods shattered. MISSION My mission as a humanitarian photographer is to unveil the beauty, grace, strength, and boundless enthusiasm that reside within all people. I am passionate about highlighting the extraordinary within the ordinary, choosing to work with non-models and placing everyday individuals in exaggerated situations that reveal profound facets of their true selves. In each frame, I seek to uncover a sense of defiance and fortitude, showcasing the resilience and indomitable spirit of humanity. Through my lens, I strive to shed light on the untold stories, the hidden truths, and the remarkable human spirit that often go unnoticed. With every click of the shutter, I aim to inspire empathy, provoke introspection, and ignite a sense of urgency to bring about positive change.
