RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee all editorial production. • Head up all political coverage, including elections and debates • Responsible for all real-time and ex-post-facto data collection and analysis, including election results, polling analysis, econometric data, et al • Raise standards of production in writing, tease writing, graphic and video production, et al (through training, mentoring, reinforcement of standards, et al) • Heavy focus on cross-platform brand integration and knowledge pooling to enhance overall impact of Newsmax across broadcast, social, web, app and ancillary platforms • Actively engaged with executive leadership in efforts to expand revenue opportunities through innovations in content by establishing synergies with advertisers and marketers • Responsible for matters of legal compliance in content (e.g, appropriateness, fair use, etc.) • Lead all initiatives to achieve improvements in news production workflow and use of technology for process optimization • During search for News Director, acted as Interim News Director overseeing daily news coverage strategy, journalist assignments and story selection, assignment desk operation, recruitment of new desk and on-air staff, creation of infrastructure to support daily news
