ABOUT KANIKA VERMA

My professional experience at the forefront of managing client relations at Invest India (national investment promotion agency), in addition to 5 years of academic training at the intersection of economics and environment, has provided me with a multifaceted skillset and a strong understanding of handling diverse stakeholders - businesses, advocacy groups and governments. At Invest India I worked as a renewable energy consultant with the government, developing policy actions which led to financing of India’s renewable energy transition. I managed a portfolio of 10+ foreign clients in the renewable energy domain and provided them business, government, and policy advisory. This resulted in foreign investments of $1B+ into the country. I was also invited to speak at and write for national and international platforms (CERA Week, Economic Times, Sunday Guardian) as a renewable energy expert representing the Indian government. Additionally, the analytics-intensive courses at Columbia on financial modelling, policy analysis, econometric analysis (using R & Python), data visualizations, and ESG have further expanded my toolkit.
