About Kamrun Nahar Keya

Officially, on 15 May 2025, I completed my Ph.D. major in Engineering Mechanics from the Aerospace Engineering Department at Iowa State University, specializing in computational materials science, focusing on molecular dynamics simulations, density functional theory (DFT), and machine learning. My research investigates advanced polymeric materials\' dynamic, mechanical, and electronic properties, providing critical insights that enable innovative approaches to material design and optimization.Specifically, my Ph.D. research employs molecular dynamics simulations to explore the thermomechanical and morphological behaviors of cross-linked polymers with additives, uncovering fundamental structure-property relationships involving cross-link density and additive concentration. In addition, I have applied DFT methods to predict the optical properties of conjugated polymers and modeled excited-state dynamics using advanced techniques such as the Bethe-Salpeter Equation (BSE). Leveraging machine learning, I developed predictive models for critical polymer properties, including the glass transition temperature (Tg), by conducting robust analyses of large datasets to enhance material optimization processes. With an interdisciplinary technical background that bridges computational methods, data analysis, and material science, I am driven to address complex challenges in materials research. I am passionate about applying my expertise to innovative projects in both academic and industrial settings. I am currently seeking postdoctoral positions or opportunities in academia and industry where I can apply my expertise in computational materials design, data-driven material optimization, and advanced simulations. I am eager to continue learning, collaborating with diverse teams, and solving critical problems in materials science and engineering.
