ABOUT KAMRAN MAHFOOZ

I am an ABIM-certified Internal Medicine physician and CPSO-licensed Specialist with a unique cross-border practice in both the United States and Canada. Currently, I serve as a Hospitalist in Upstate New York and a General Internal Medicine specialist in Ontario with a cardio-metabolic focus, where I provide high-volume consultative care through a Medical Professional Corporation. This dual exposure has given me broad clinical insight and adaptability, enabling me to navigate both high-acuity inpatient care and complex outpatient consultations with efficiency, precision, and compassion.My career bridges clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and healthcare entrepreneurship. In Ontario, I have established a high-referral consultative practice serving a diverse population with emphasis on cardiovascular risk reduction, metabolic health, and preventative medicine. In the U.S, I manage complex inpatient cases, working across multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes and continuity of care. I am also passionate about scaling innovative care models, integrating diagnostics, telemedicine, and cross-border expertise to improve accessibility and quality of care.Beyond clinical practice, I have a strong record of academic contributions, including multiple peer-reviewed publications in cardiology, internal medicine, and pulmonary medicine, with work published in journals such as Circulation and JACC. Looking ahead, I am pursuing opportunities in academic subspecialty training, particularly within cardiology and related disciplines, to further integrate research, teaching, and clinical practice. My long-term vision is to contribute to the advancement of subspecialty care while building multi-site, integrated clinical practices that combine consultation, diagnostics, and chronic disease management for sustainable, high-quality healthcare delivery.
