About Kamille Lang

The natural world has never ceased to inspire me. Growing up, my family spent so much time exploring natural spaces all over the Bay Area. I found myself searching tide pools in Monterey for little signs of life, exploring the \"fairy circles\" of our local redwood forests for banana slugs and mystical beings as well visiting local marshland habitats to taste a local delicacy, pickleweed. With the attitudes and behaviors I developed as a child, I found myself always gravitated to a career outdoors where I could share stories and scientific explanations for the world around us with young people. After transferring from De Anza College to Humboldt State University, I found a degree that perfectly fit me (albeit a mouthful to actually say). I majored in Environmental Management and Protection with an emphasis in Environmental Education and Interpretation. This degree gave me hands-on experience for GIS in the field, soil analysis to adapt to climate and weather of an area over time and understanding the balance between human recreation and wildlife conservation in regards to land management. My favorite classes involved my cohort planning community events that educated students about watershed protection, pollution prevention and environmental stewardship in general. Knowing the science and wanting to share it with others fuels me to provide creative and engaging messaging to adults and students alike so as to inspire environmental stewardship today. Currently I am working at multiple Bay Area environmental education institutions to provide local students with a more grounded understanding of the flora and fauna that call the Silicon Valley home. Gaining more animal care husbandry is my current goal as well and enhancing my own voice through my curriculum development at these organizations. Outside of work, I love to explore outdoors and replant my roots in what makes me curious, knowledgable and able to have fun in a work environment that is in constant change.

As a strategic leader at Climate Resilient Communities (CRC), I partner with our Executive Director and team to shape a bold organizational vision—advancing climate resilience and equity throughout the Bay Area. I align outreach, education, and empowerment initiatives with CRC’s long-term strategies, ensuring our programs reflect community priorities and foster meaningful change. My work includes representing CRC as an Equity Implementation Partner in regional coalitions like BayCAN and SC4, driving collaborative solutions across the sector.I oversee our full suite of outreach and education programs, mentoring staff and community partners to deliver high-impact curricula and leadership training focused on resilience and empowerment.
