About Chan
Currently a Junior studying Industrial Engineering at the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Through a combination of technical coursework, leadership roles, and campus involvement, I have developed a well-rounded perspective that allows me to approach challenges thoughtfully and proactively. From the beginning of my academic journey, I have applied core industrial engineering principles, such as systems thinking, process optimization, and data-driven decision making, to both my academic and personal growth. I have intentionally worked to strengthen my time management, expand my professional network, and build self-awareness by identifying areas where I can continuously improve. I approach problems with an analytical and ethical mindset, valuing efficiency, integrity, and responsibility in both team and individual settings.Outside the classroom, I am highly involved across campus in leadership, service, and professional development roles. I am honored to be one of the twenty inaugural Kessler Scholars, receiving a full scholarship for my undergraduate studies. I also serve as a Peer Success Guide within the Student Success Hub under the Office of the Provost, where I support student engagement and success. My involvement includes serving as Vice President for the IISE Student Chapter, Director of Recruitment for Pitt Dance Marathon, and Chair of the Kessler Scholars Leadership Board. Through each of these roles, I strive to foster inclusive, supportive environments and contribute meaningfully to the organizations I serve.Overall, my experiences have shaped my commitment to creating positive impact, both on campus and within the field of industrial engineering. By combining technical skills, leadership experience, and a strong sense of service, I am motivated to continue learning, growing, and contributing to initiatives that drive lasting change.
