As a consultant to Transform Rural India (TRI), I led the design and implementation of a strategic intervention to strengthen the Agri-Entrepreneur (AE) initiative across 10 districts in Uttar Pradesh—Hamirpur, Banda, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sultanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, and Basti. Over a three-month period, around 500 AEs were identified, trained, and engaged in viable agri-business ventures aimed at enhancing incomes for both AEs and the farmers they support.Key components of the assignment included:• AE onboarding and capacity building• Business planning and mentorship support• Market and financial linkages• Performance monitoring and impact trackingThe initiative emphasized gender inclusion, scalability, and sustainability, aiming to build a robust rural enterprise ecosystem driven by local agri-entrepreneurs.
