ABOUT KAMAL MAANICSHAH

Motivated engineer aspiring to create intelligent machines, lead innovative projects and collaborate with visionary minds inspired to make the world a better place. Even as a kid growing up in a small hill station in India I always said I want to be a scientist (most inspiration from my dad\'s stories and marvel movies I guess). I was interested in robotics and hence finished my undergrad in Electronics and Communication Engineering playing and experimenting with different types of robotic design. In my final year I got more interested in the learning part of the robots which turned my focus to data science and AI. I worked as an automation engineer for 2 years which gave me an incredible experience and knowledge across various platforms and technologies in the pretext of automation. I also had the opportunity to learn from great minds about designing the architecture of a solution to existing tasks to be automated. The job inspired me to learn about making systems even more autonomous which motivated me towards machine learning algorithms and statistics. This paved the way for my research interests in my Masters and PhD. I am grateful to have a few internships to test my technical expertise on this subject and design innovative AI solutions with added experience from my previous job. After my PhD, I restarted my professional career as an AI system engineer. The role gave me a wonderful experience as I was responsible for designing and deploying end-to-end intelligent systems, from embedded hardware to advanced computer vision applications. This being my story until now, my pursuit of designing intelligent systems that would help the society is ongoing.
