Independent Senior Social Worker / Director of Parenting Apart Community Interest CompanyI manage a team of expert Social Care Consultants specializing in interventions to reduce inter-parental conflict. Our work supports families referred through multiple channels, including Public and Private Family Law Proceedings, Children’s Services, Cafcass, NYAS, Psychologist and independent referrals from parents or solicitors. My responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, focusing on supporting families in complex situations. This includes delivering therapeutic interventions to families experiencing high conflict, alienating behaviours, or safeguarding concerns, providing tailored parenting advice to improve family dynamics, and managing a caseload of diverse and challenging family cases.I conduct monthly supervision of consultants to ensure quality service delivery and undertake thorough risk assessments to identify and address potential issues. I prepare and present detailed court reports, attend hearings to provide professional input, and participate in Child Protection and Child in Need meetings, advocating for children’s welfare. Additionally, I supervise contacts, prepare observation reports, and actively engage in multi-agency meetings to foster a collaborative approach.As part of my commitment to improving family support services, I deliver Training and support to Local Authorities to Reduce Parental Conflict. I provide case consultations and group reflective supervision to Local Authority staff, enhancing their capacity to manage complex cases. I also work with Local Authorities to embed the Parenting Apart Programme into Early Intervention services, ensuring effective delivery tailored to specific local needs.Beyond direct intervention, I develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and conferences to raise awareness about the impact of parental conflict on children and the importance of early intervention.
