ABOUT KALI THORNE LADD
I believe in the power of children to transform our society and try to use my entrepreneurial instinct and policy savvy to illuminate their voices and drive towards educational transformation in the name of equity and a better society for all. In May 2013, I was elected to the PCC Board of Directors. I served as Board Chair between 20••••19 Portland Community College serves over students in the Portland Metro area all who are striving towards that next step in their education, career or personal life. It was a great honor to serve. With over 20 years experience in Education and education policy including two years teaching, five years engaged in community and school based work, I co-founded KairosPDX. I did so because I believe that historically under-served youth need education options where they can thrive and see themselves in the learning experience. My work has specifically focused on the improvement of outcomes for black children. Over five decades is too long for an achievement gap to exist.
