Current M.S. candidate at UMass Boston researching the use of “3D Beach Profiles”, a new beach monitoring technique that enables detailed spatial and temporal measurement of changes in the morphology and grain-size of beaches by incorporating structure-from-motion (sfm) technology and machine learning into beach profiling methods.The goal of my research is to develop simple, repeatable, and affordable beach monitoring methods that municipalities and community scientists can perform to inform beach management and coastal planning.Specialties include field data collection, GIS and spatial analysis, environmental permitting and reporting, proposal support and writing, project management, coordination with government and regulatory agencies, and development of training protocols.
