ABOUT KALEM KACHUR

Kalem graduated from McGill University with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy in 2004 and has been working in Montreal ever since. He started his studies in the McKenzie Method/MDT immediately after graduating and received his certification in 2012. He completed his McKenzie Institute International Diploma in 2014, which involved a two-year specialisation process including university coursework, a two-month full-time international internship and a final exam. He is one of two diploma level McKenzie physiotherapists in the province of Quebec. Kalem has also taken courses in vestibular rehabilitation, manual therapy, and from the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute. Kalem has been extremely involved in sport, which was one of the driving factors in him becoming a physiotherapist. He was a member of the National Team in Judo for over a decade. He is a 5 time National Champion and won international medals in North and South America, Europe and Asia and participated in three World Championships. Kalem’s therapeutic approach involves an emphasis on exercise, postural advice and education. He focuses on teaching self-management principles and exercises, in order to allow the patient to take control of their pain or dizziness and understand how to reduce and often eliminate it from their lives. He also includes manual treatment to help progress towards the goal of a return to activity. Although he works with all types of injuries, Kalem has a special interest in treating headaches and spinal pain, especially those that have become more chronic in nature, as well as vestibular and related problems.
