About Kaleigh Brutto
I am currently in the final year of the 3/2 MBA program at Indiana University. Upon completion, I will earn my master’s degree and fulfill the 150-credit requirement to sit for the CPA examination. While I have ambitious goals for both my academic and professional career, I am confident that my strong work ethic, discipline, and determination will enable me to achieve them. This past spring, I had the privilege of participating in a study abroad internship in Hanoi, Vietnam, where I served as a tax intern with Grant Thornton Vietnam. This experience deepened my understanding of international tax practices and provided valuable exposure to diverse business environments and cultures across Southeast Asia. Following this, I continued my professional development this summer as an audit intern at Grant Thornton’s Chicago office. This role allowed me to further refine my technical accounting skills and expand my professional network through meaningful collaboration and client engagement. The combination of my academic training and practical experience has enabled me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts. I believe these experiences have prepared me well for the transition into the professional workforce, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead as I complete my final year at Indiana University!

Throughout my audit internship at Grant Thornton, I contributed to the planning and risk assessment procedures for multiple publicly traded clients and their subsidiaries, analyzing SEC filings, performing preliminary analytics, and drafting memos using prior-year documentation and supporting materials. I collaborated with team members across different engagements by assisting with rolling forward documents, verifying financial data against prior-year numbers and 10-K filings, and stepping in to support time-sensitive client work outside of my assigned responsibilities. In addition to the technical aspects of the role, I completed comprehensive audit training and actively built relationships with professionals at all levels. This allowed me to gain a deeper insight on the clients I was working with as well as better navigate my future career path.
