I\'ve always been fascinated by the power of science to improve lives! Studying Biomedical Science at York University fueled my lifelong passion for research and patient care, especially in my third- and fourth-year courses, where I gained hands-on lab experience. I learned that successful research isn’t just about conducting experiments; it’s about truly understanding the physiological and molecular aspects behind them, critically analyzing results, and drawing meaningful conclusions that can impact patient care.Wanting to connect my passion for research with real-world patient care, I began volunteering at the Ambulatory and Paediatrics Unit at Etobicoke General Hospital. This experience has been incredibly rewarding; not only have I had the chance to contribute to a patient’s experience in a meaningful way, but I’ve also grown in ways I never expected. I’ve learned how to collaborate closely with healthcare teams, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and most importantly, how small actions can make a big difference in someone’s day.What drives me is the opportunity to contribute to science, to patient care, and to my community. I love being in environments where I can learn, grow, and apply my skills to make a positive impact.
