About Kaitlyn Hong
I am currently an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology. As a research assistant in the Özpolat Research Lab, I focus on germline and stem cell regeneration. My interest in the medical field was sparked during high school while working with Dr. Gilden, Professor of Medicine and Program Director at Chicago Medical School. As a former 10-year student-athlete, I recognize the crucial role confidence plays in enhancing quality of life. My experiences as a 10-year student-athlete, particularly in soccer, have highlighted the transformative power of confidence. Witnessing its impact on athletic performance has fueled my desire to extend this positive influence beyond the sports field. As I aspire to work in the medical field, I see an opportunity to contribute to instilling confidence in others, not only as a key element in physical well-being but also as a fundamental aspect of overall health. I am driven to leverage my unique experience in biology and psychology to make a meaningful impact on individuals\' lives by fostering confidence and resilience.
