About Kaitlyn Hansen Jackson

I sought out training as a Nurse Practitioner because of the impact lack of healthcare resources had on student success that I witnessed as a teacher. Young people and their families in underserved communities disproportionately encounter barriers to primary care which I believe is a major preventable contributor to the perpetuation of the opportunity gap. This reality is a driving force for my passion about my work as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-PC) and the Director of the School-Based Health program at Ryan Health.My long-term goal is to expand the quality and quantity of pediatric primary care as a mitigation strategy to difficulties in accessing healthcare for children & adolescents. I am interested in working in the interrelated fields of education and health care with and for families without equitable access to healthcare, education, housing, nutrition, transportation, and mental health resources.

   Direct all aspects of School Based Health program at Ryan Health pertaining to healthcare services, operations, and staff of seven School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs). Responsible for growing school-based health program-wide medical visits; increase of 160% as compared to previous school year as Supervisor. As Director, drive program health initiatives such as vaccine outreach events for newly immigrated and asylum-seeking families and expand program services by integrating with community partners and across Ryan Health departments. Collaborate with Behavioral Health department for the provision of mental health services in the SBHCs.
