ABOUT KAITLYN MCKENNA

My exposure to construction started at an early age when I would go on surveys with my dad. Construction has always been part of my family, so it\'s no surprise that it\'s where I built my career.I worked in HR for a small manufacturing facility for two years before joining Big-D Construction in 2018. My connection with NAWIC started shortly after joining the Big-D Construction team. I attended NAWIC Salt Lake chapter meetings and quickly realized the incredible potential for growth, learning, and networking that it offers. I\'ve since served on the Salt Lake chapter board as Director, Vice President, and President, chaired the Pacific Southwest Region WIC Week and Marketing committees, and co-chaired the National WIC Week committee.In my time at Big-D Construction, I\'ve developed skill sets beyond my HR experience. In 2022, I completely shifted careers from HR to Technology. I\'ve always had a passion for innovation and technology, and now I am a Senior Implementation Specialist, managing discovery and implementation projects for cutting-edge tools for use in construction. I focus on collaborating with others to improve tools and processes across the organization.My background in HR has equipped me with unique perspectives and skills in developing relationships with stakeholders and ensuring smooth transitions and widespread adoption of new technologies. I learn and adapt quickly, an essential skill in the constantly shifting technology realm. I have an ability to see the big picture while also maintaining incredible attention to detail.I am always seeking continuous improvement and professional growth. As a proud member and leader within the National Association of Women in Construction, I\'m involved in shaping the future of our industry. I\'m eager to connect with like-minded professionals who are passionate about driving innovation and achieving excellence in construction.
