ABOUT KAITLYN JOHNSON

As a Community Manager for Matter Neuroscience, I\'m excited to bring my passion for building communities and understanding the brain to a company at the forefront of making the neuroscience of happiness easy for people to understand and use in their daily lives. I aim to cultivate a global community of people dedicated to building a better future for everyone as they better understand everyone\'s neural reward systems.Prior to joining Matter, I worked as a Community Manager for the Lens Studio Community at Snap Inc, where I helped build the future of AR experiences. I played a key role in launching the Snap Lens Network, identifying and recruiting skilled developers to the Snap AR creation platform. I managed global programs to keep top creators inspired, engaged, and challenged, and partnered with cross-functional teams to tell the stories of the incredible creator community, as well as secure opportunities for the creative community to grow and learn.Outside of my civilian career, I serve as a Military Intelligence (MI) Reservist Army Officer. I currently serve as the Master Resiliency Trainer for my unit, and am ready to support and supplement staff functioning around the management of intelligence collection, production, analysis, and dissemination for a joint force. I have a Bachelors of Science in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in cognitive science and a Master of Arts in Communications: Media Studies, both from Stanford University. While at Stanford, I worked at the Virtual Human Interaction Lab, where I pushed our studies outside of the lab environment and developed experiences that could feel believable for all races, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, and physical abilities.Regardless of my role, I constantly look to support people. I take immense satisfaction in being productive, and look for opportunities to scale procedures to save others\' time and effort. As a lifelong learner, I continuously aim to improve my skills and am always excited to pass along knowledge learned. I endeavor to bring people together through empathy and deliberative action, and aspire to initiate novel projects, relationships and conversations to build the future of storytelling.
