ABOUT KAITLIN TANSEY
Every day, I strive to employ and promote my strengths in being considerate of others, a strong communicator, and a tenacious young businesswoman.Consideration of others. I have always cared deeply for those in my life, from conversations with family members and life-long friends, to greeting strangers on the street with a smile and a nod. This deep passion for the welfare of others has expanded to a leadership position in my high school’s chapter of Key Club, where I helped organize and schedule volunteer opportunities for students. These events included the Fight for Air Climb and various Chicago-based races such as the Turkey Trot and the Chicago Marathon. These opportunities have taught me how to collaborate with my peers and adults to plan large events, unify individuals around a common goal, and genuinely listen to the needs and passions of others.A strong communicator. Additionally, I have always enjoyed making new connections through discussing various passions. I love to make connections with new people in order to expand my own opinions and ideas through learning histories and perspectives different than my own. This strength of being a listener and effectively communicating my thoughts back to someone has led me to pursue a degree in Economic Consulting at the Kelley School of Business. With this degree, I hope to work for a consulting group that makes a difference for the individuals and organizations they represent. Tenacity. In all aspects of my life, I endeavor to apply all of my energy and attention to the situation at hand, and I recognize the immense benefit of asking for help or a different perspective when faced with an obtrusive obstacle. As a student, my tenacity is represented in my love of learning and my excitement in pursuing interdisciplinary fields. In addition to my current major, I am considering a Kelley Co-Major of Law, Ethics, and Decision-Making (LEADS) as well as possible minors such as Cognitive Sciences or Spanish.
