About Kaitlin M.

My background blends discipline, creativity, and a strong commitment to quality. I earned my MS in Accounting from Bentley University while working full-time at Tufts University and concurrently sitting for all four sections of the CPA exams. My undergrad education at Simmons University shaped my leadership skills and gave me a strong liberal arts foundation. At PwC, I am an external auditor in the CIPS group. My clients are predominantly in the retail and consumer products space. I’m especially proud to work for a firm that values inclusive leadership—something that resonates deeply with me. I am also a CPA licensed through the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy.Outside of work, you can find me running (sometimes with my two dogs, Cubby and Ottie, in tow). I started running during my first busy season at PwC, and it became a critical part of my wellness routine. I ran my first marathon in May 2025 (sub-4:00!). You also might find me reading (nearly 200 books for pleasure in the last five years!), engaging in dog sports (agility is our favorite), hiking (trying to complete all 48 footers in the White Mountains), teaching, or listening to Taylor Swift. If you’re exploring a career in public accounting—especially through a nontraditional path—or want to connect as a fellow LGBTQ professional, I’d love to chat. I am always open to new connections.

Experience

  1. Adjunct Professor

    Ct State Quinebaug Valley

    Jan 2025 — Present · US

As a part-time lecturer at CT State Community College -QV, I teach ACCT 1130 Principles of Financial Accounting, providing students with a strong foundation in fundamental accounting principles, GAAP, financial statements, and key business concepts. The course is delivered in a remote, asynchronous format and I engage with students via weekly discussion board, developing content to further student understanding of accounting practices while incorporating real-world examples to bridge the gap between theory and application. I strive to create an interactive learning environment that fosters critical thinking and accommodates diverse learning styles. By offering clear explanations, constructive feedback, and ongoing support, I aim to help students build confidence in their accounting skills and prepare for future success in their academic and professional careers.
