Enterprise architecture, practised well, is a futures-informed strategic discipline — not a documentation exercise. As an Open CA Master Enterprise Architect and Full Member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF), my focus is on guiding decisions that shape how organisations design, adapt, and endure in the face of uncertainty.That means working with Chief Strategy Officers, Chief Information and Digital Officers, and Chief Enterprise Architects to move from fragile, single-point forecasts to scenario‑informed strategies. It involves testing operating models against plausible futures before committing to them and designing real options into the architecture to enable leaders to make informed decisions as conditions change.
