ABOUT KAINE OSBURN
Equity is the real engine for growth in student and adult learning. Identifying - through multiple lenses - what each learner needs to succeed and working to provide that results in every learner\'s experience being meaningful and affirming. I have broad and deep experience as a teacher, union leader, principal, and district leader. My main areas of focus have been successful board management, community engagement, strategic planning and execution, and staff learning and development aligned with strategic goals and leadership development principles.I recently retired from leading a high performing District in the near north suburbs of Chicago which sends students to New Trier High School. As a superintendent, previously I have led large-scale community engagement collaboration and strategic planning, a successful $78M bond referendum, installation of a new staff training center through an innovative community partnership, and I have developed meaningful relationships with civic and business leaders on behalf of my students. Additionally, I facilitated the development of a high quality MTSS reaching learners in need of support and learners in need of extension. As a Deputy Superintendent and a Principal, I have engaged in collaborative leadership in multiple sectors across larger and smaller school districts - from operations, to curriculum and instruction, to finance, human resources, and community relations. I also have experience working directly with elementary and secondary families, teachers, principals, and community leaders all on behalf of advancing student learning. As a College Board Trustee from 2016 to 2020, I have learned about what post-secondary education institutions are really seeking in successful students. I do not merely seek to develop \"the Best\" in an organization, I seek to establish an organization\'s GREATness on terms that are incomparable.
