ABOUT KAILEY SUTTON
My practice involves many aspects of the development industry, including construction, municipal, land use planning, and expropriation law. I act for all levels of the construction pyramid in project advising, contract drafting and negotiation. In advocacy matters, I frequently appear before committees of adjustment, municipal councils, the Toronto Local Appeal Body and the Ontario Land Tribunal (previously the Ontario Municipal Board and the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal). I have also appeared before the Ontario Superior Court and the Provincial Court (provincial offences division). I am a core member of McMillan\'s National Construction Group and sit on the group\'s executive. Outside the firm, I am an active member of the Urban Land Institute (Toronto Chapter) Programming Committee, and a Member-at-Large of the Ontario Bar Association\'s Municipal & Planning Law Section Executive. I became an adjunct professor at the George Brown College ADZ School of Construction Management in 2021, teaching a course in Construction Contract Law.
