ABOUT KAILE WILSON
From my life experience and my personal background in recovery and with underserved communities, as well as from growing up in a Colorado mountain town, I understand the lack of addiction and mental health treatment programs in rural areas, and the ones that exist often don\'t connect to the particular issues that women (especially our Kānaka maoli community in rural Hawai\'i). I believe that needs to change through accessibility and destigmatization as well as a revolution in the way we approach SUD treatment overall. That is what led me to go back to school to get a bachelors in Metro State in Denver\'s Addiction Studies based Independent Degree Program, where I added courses in Women\'s Studies, Criminal Justice and more. I worked as a substance use counselor in Methadone Maintenance Therapy clinics, as part of my commitment to and focus on Medication Assisted Treatment destigmatization and access. I now also have my MSW from University of Hawai\'i at Manoa and do clinical SUD and Mental Health work.I previously held my Colorado Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) certification, the second highest specialized addiction counseling certification in the state of Colorado and now my LAC Licensed Addiction Counselor license is pending. I also have my Hawai\'i Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) license I am working towards my LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker license. I currently work as a SUD Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health clinician with a focus on MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment), Opioid Use Disorder and Harm Reduction with de-stigmazation, both with clients and with community outreach. I am proud to work for Solvista Health, a community mental health care center serving all, including low income, residents of south central Colorado, covering Fremont (Cañon City), Custer (Westcliffe), Chaffee (Buena Vista and Salida) and Lake (Leadville) counties, based out of the Leadville office.
