ABOUT KAILEN GROTTEL-BROWN
Glad you stopped by! My name is Kailen Grottel-Brown, and I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in political science and minoring in public policy. I’m passionate about community-centered public service, higher education, and social entrepreneurship. Since the beginning of my college career, I’ve been deeply involved with the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), UC Berkeley’s student government, as a three-term Senator, working on a range of policy and programming initiatives.I have taken an active role engaging in public service outside of Berkeley, interning and learning about government at the local, state, and federal government: former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Berkeley City Councilmember Ben Bartlett, California Governor Gavin Newsom, State Senator Scott Wiener, and former U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler. I have also been involved with several political campaigns during the 2024 election season.In my free time, I love biking around the Berkeley marina, playing tennis and pickleball, and eating too many Chipotle burritos.
