ABOUT KAIBIN ZHANG

Wondering about the wide span of my experiences? I sincerely invite you to hear my brief story that follows. Let’s connect the dots together. For now I’ll say I’ve always been on. • I was more of a STEM back in middle school, where I began building my STEM and computational skillset. I did quite a good job and was selected to participate in the Physics Olympiad, alongside other academic recognitions. • Upon entering high school, I discovered both a passion and a natural aptitude for the social sciences and business—fields where I could transform ideas and knowledge into real-world applications, while focusing on human behaviour and decision-making, in other words, human interactions. • It was during this period that I came to realise not only my capacity to work across disciplines but also the value of interdisciplinary thinking and knowledge in addressing the challenges of an increasingly complex and automated world. So, I pursued a multidisciplinary degree—History, Politics, and Economics at UCL. • My education at UCL, enriched by studies in humanities and social sciences, deepens my understanding of the human experience and strengthens my multidisciplinary approach. • What’s more important is what UCL and London are showing me: the profound and nuanced understanding of inclusiveness, accessibility, and a human-centred mindset — not just as ideals but as values reflected in every detail and practice.
