Experiencing all things private equity with Asia Alternatives. Working in different sectors with multiple weeks in each including the finance/accounting and front office investments in Hong Kong, and more. Working 7 total weeks in the San Francisco office, I was able to learn the different processes within back-office finance for a private equity fund of funds. Assisting fund managers with manual work in Microsoft Excel, Investran Report Wizard, and basic x drives.Having 2 weeks in Hong Kong to be able to experience the front office investments aspect of private equity helped wrap my head around the entire process, sparked my creativity and love for investments. Working with all different regional teams in Asia, I was able to sit in on multiple general partner meetings and help create log sheets, make recommendations with the help of experienced analysts and managing partners. In addition, gathering and pulling data and creating a model that the team and I can utilize in analyzing potential investments. Fund, market, and company analysis. Examples including but not limited to fund capacity analysis, fund to fund IRR and MOIC comparison, and team track record analysis.
