ABOUT KADIYAH LODGE

Never look down on anybody unless you\'re helping them up.\"-Jesse Jackson CAREER PATH & SERVICE I began my official career path as an educator in New York City and realized that going back to my hometown to connect with people in my community was my calling. Through my AmeriCorps VISTA service, I was able to pivot into the nonprofit sector. I am committed to helping others thrive. No stranger to adversity, I have used my personal and professional experiences as an opportunity to build authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. I believe that no matter where you are at in life, success is fleeting; you are only as good as the people you help. ACTS OF COMPASSION Three words I use to describe myself: humble, dedicated and compassionate. I consider myself a compassionate advocate. I took a year and a half hiatus from non-profit work to become a caregiver for my mother who was fighting cancer. Thankfully, cancer lost, my mother won. A serendipitous encounter connected me to passionate, strong women like Bari Roberts Ross. I was invited to write the foreword to her book: Stronger with Two: The Inspiring True Story of a Husband and Wife Winning the Battle Against Cancer Together. WHAT I DOI serve my community through acts of compassion, collaboration and partnerships. Together, we can ensure that people from all walks of life thrive, engage and empower others. My specialties include: problem-solving, critical thinking, writing, team-building, collaboration, social media, public relations, community-based outreach, public speaking, creative writing, journaling, creative content, leadership, planning and research, volunteerism, community outreach, investigative work, workshop facilitation, grant writing, program development, grassroots development, fundraising, presentation skills, cultivating meaningful relationships, mentoring, teaching, tutoring, co-teaching, case management, job placement, career assessments, establish community-based partnerships with non-profit agencies.
