Through my AmeriCorps VISTA service, I was able to pivot into the nonprofit sector. I am committed to helping others thrive. No stranger to adversity, I have used my personal and professional experiences as an opportunity to build authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. I believe that no matter where you are at in life, success is fleeting; you are only as good as the people you help. ACTS OF COMPASSION Three words I use to describe myself: humble, dedicated and compassionate. I consider myself a compassionate advocate. I took a year and a half hiatus from non-profit work to become a caregiver for my mother who was fighting cancer. Thankfully, cancer lost, my mother won. A serendipitous encounter connected me to passionate, strong women like Bari Roberts Ross. I was invited to write the foreword to her book: Stronger with Two: The Inspiring True Story of a Husband and Wife Winning the Battle Against Cancer Together. WHAT I DOI serve my community through acts of compassion, collaboration and partnerships.
