Leads an award-winning, independent news and public affairs department in downtown Bloomington, Indiana-Manages a team of 66 news and public affairs department personnel, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment-Executive produces a daily, local newscast and oversaw the production of 13 locally produced news and public programs, ensuring high-quality local journalism to the community-Helped launch an impactful investigative series,\"Deep Dive,\" in collaboration with the Limestone Post magazine. Successfully secured funding from the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County to support critical community issue exploration-Supervises the planning, execution, and delivery of \"Deep Dive\" episodes, contributing to informed public discourse on vital matters-Provides comprehensive training and mentorship to journalists from diverse backgrounds, empowering them to excel in their reporting roles and contribute to the growth of the department-Spearheads coverage across diverse areas including local and state government, politics, environment, social justice, sports, and music, showcasing a versatile approach to storytelling and effective handling of a broad spectrum of topics-Under my leadership, the news department achieved remarkable success, winning 18 awards in the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists\' Best in Journalism contest-Personally recognized for my outstanding work, I earned 2nd Place in Sports Reporting in the state\'s SPJ Awards for my news feature titled \"Can Sports Change the World?\"-For a feature I conducted on free speech issues at IU, I earned 1st Place for Best Radio News Feature in the Indiana SPJ Awards for 2024.
