The gap between a financial model and field reality is where most operations fail. My career has been a series of being dropped into that gap and building structure where none existed.WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE• Sole Portfolio Operations Manager for a Fortune 50 commercial solar fleet (86 sites, 54 MW). Inherited a distressed portfolio grading below 30% and engineered a systematic recovery to above 90% verified performance in under 12 months.• Originated a $1.5M retrofit project across 33 aging Data Acquisition Systems that wasn’t on anyone’s roadmap — identified the degradation pattern, pitched stakeholders directly, and orchestrated ~$4M in total corrective and preventative value.• Operational backbone for a $6M+ Tax Equity deal across 23 C&I solar sites after a Director’s resignation left the portfolio without a financial operator.
