About Jyotika Arora
If curiosity had a job description, I’d be a strong candidate. Hi, I\'m Jyotika Arora, final-year Fashion Communication student at NIFT Panchkula, currently working as a Graphic Design Intern at Tohands. I’ve gained hands-on experience across media and fashion startups, and was awarded a Medallion of Excellence in Graphic Design Technology at IndiaSkills 2024 by NSDC. Along the way, my curiosity about the “why” behind things also led me to explore academic research, I’ve authored a few papers and presented one at an international conference as well. What drives me is a deep interest in the everyday, in questioning the ordinary. From how fonts evolved to what doorknobs looked like a century ago, I find meaning in the details most people skip past, even something as simple as the hamburger icon on your phone (yes, that has a history too). To me, every design, object, or tradition carries a story. And whether it’s through visual design, writing, or observation, I enjoy connecting those dots to offer new perspectives on the familiar.
