About Jyoti K C
I am a geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineer with more than 5 years of academic research experience in landfill gas mitigation, environmental remediation and geotechnical analysis and designs and 2 years of industrial experience in project management, construction management and geotechnical design. My PhD research, which was an NSF funded project, focused on developing a biogeochemical cover for MSW landfill to mitigate fugitive emissions such as methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. During my PhD research, I developed research methodologies and performed laboratory column experiments to test landfill gas mitigation potential of the alternative cover materials. I completed my Master\'s degree in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India. I conducted my Master\'s research on creep behavior of loose mined sand at the Technical University of Munich, Germany as an exchange student through DAAD program. I worked as a Geotech/Civil Engineer at AECOM India Pvt. Ltd for two years following my undergraduate degree where I worked on diverse projects including project management of high rise building construction, geotech design of metro rail tunnels, retaining structures and land reclamations.
