ABOUT JOSEPH JOE HAYNES-STEWART
I am currently pursuing dual B.A. degrees in Government and Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout my career, I have actively engaged in various roles that highlight my commitment to community service, legal research, and political activism. My experiences range from conducting legal research at the Texas State Capitol, coordinating community engagement for the National Black Law Student Association, to producing an award-winning documentary on homelessness in Texarkana. I am particularly passionate about leveraging data and legal research to inform policy decisions and advocate for underrepresented communities as well as contribute to the creation of inclusive policies that promote equity. My time as a legislative intern at the Texas State Capitol has equipped me with the skills to analyze and present complex data effectively. I have a strong interest in labor and antitrust policy, and I am dedicated to ensuring fair practices and promoting competition to protect consumers and workers alike.
